This sudden death inspires an emotional odyssey—first to a small town in Kansas, from which he retraces the migration of his mother’s family to Hawaii, and then to Kenya, where he meets the African side of his family, confronts the bitter truth of his father’s life, and at last reconciles his divided inheritance.

I wish there was more to hear from a man who had an unusual upbringing and a kind perspective on people. Non-fiction read in Barack's beautiful voice. I was so sorry to come to the end of these two tomes.Candid, thoughtful and inspirational.
I really enjoyed it. I have read both these books previously with the hope of re-reading at t later date. It it really nice having President Obama's reading of his own work.
This man listens. He listens. You will not fully understand Barack Obama and his great gift for listening until you hear him read his own book. He does all the voices, all the accents, perfectly.
His journey and his observations can be treasured by all of us. This set will be worth listening to again. I have read both of President Obama's books, been challenged by his ideas and inspired by his thoughtfulness. This is a person whose essential wisdom exceeds his years.
There are some fine audio books (Reagan in his own words, Reagan Diaries), this is for the serious scholar; and sell the Obama book on ebay for a $1, that's all it's worth. WITHOUT EVER DEFINING WHAT THE CHANGE WAS.Now that the honeymoon is over, it is clear to even the liberal element that this was a mistake and he is not what his campaign portrayed him.If you want to discuss real change, take a look at a real president, like that of Ronald Reagan.
